Altered Picture Frames..... I made these frames as Christmas gifts...these were inspired by Terri Barrios.....many thanks to you.  Most of the flowers were hand made.  For all of these I used the MDF frames from Michaels, select papers, ribbons, pearls and blings.  All were altered with home made glitter mists.  Enjoy.....

This black frame was just gorgeous.  There is a sprig of crystal bling on the left that is not appreciable in the picture.....

Life has a way of just changing course without much notice.  We travelled during the holidays - we went to Lake Placid, NY and Montreal for New Years.  What a beautiful city.  I have soooo many pictures to scrap - I am never going to catch up.

Santa was good to me....he brought me a Flip camera so I can make some videos but....alas no time right now.   I went back to school and that has just taken over like a bad rash.  I was very much on track and now Mom is in the hospital with a new aneurysm....she is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday.  Hopefully, she will have a quick recovery and we can go back to normalcy.

Well, I have some photos to post of the beautiful frames I made for Christmas.  Stay tuned.

Well, 2010 is done and I am so looking forward to the New Year. I always look to the coming year as an opportunity to start afresh. Many years ago I stopped making resolutions and instead started to make goals in every aspect of my life. My husband also makes his own. We then sit together and prioritize our goals and come up with a list....financially, travel, professional, health, etc. I write our finalized list on a card and keep it accessible. As we meet each goal I cross it off the list. Much like a road map, it helps us keep track of our "trip". Every quarter we look at the list to see where we are and whether adjustments néed to be made. I love to see the items that are crossed off...I get such a sense of accomplishment.

I know one of my goals is to scrap a little more as 2010 was a little busy for me. I am currently in Montreal and will return on Sunday. I have some ideas of some great layouts and will be posting photos of some of the frames I made as Christmas gifts.

And so, my friends, I wish you a healthy and happy New Year full of blessings and abundance.

ALTERED FRAMES.....with Christmas around the corner, I thought I would start making some gifts.  These are for my siblings.....they can put a family picture or one of the kids.  This is the first  one.

  • Background paper is Basic Grey - Perhaps
  • I used Shimmers Spritz, Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and some alcohol inks I mixed myself
  • The flowers I made myself and these also were sprayed with Shimmers Spritz.  I also dusted the petals with Shimmerz
  • The flourishes are Tim Holtz Grunge - these were also sprayed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and Shimmer
  • The butterflies are from the floral section at Michaels.
I had a wonderful time making these and can't wait to get started on the next one.

THANK GOODNES SUMMER IS OVER...I had absolutely no time for my crafts but now that things have settled down, I have some goodies.  I made a couple of layouts from our trip to St Augustine, Fl last year.  Yes, I am that far behind.  So here goes...

Also, COMING SOON, I am putting together a back to school mini album kit and I am soooo excited, not only because it's my first but because it's looking so stinking cute.  I will also post more on the kit towards the end of the week.

Thanks for looking....

NEW BABY BOOK

I made this baby book for a friend whose best friend jus had a baby...I love making baby books and have made 6 or 7 - all but one for girls....  This is a rather simple book that goes from birth through the first birthday.  I know the new mom is starting to scrap and with a new baby, having the pages already made is a great help.

Paper - various loose stock and not from any particular paper stack.
Embellishments, stamps and punchs are from K & CO, Martha Stewart, and others
Cricut carts used: Storybook (one of my favorites), Life's a Beach, A Child's Year, Noel, Mother's Day
Lace and ribbons are varied - just stuff I had.

I did not put titles on alot of pages because I want her to customize the album with the photos.

This is the first page - Why God Made Little Girls....I just love this poem...

I used the MS punch around the page and printed the poem on vellum.  I then used a punch on the edges, inked it lightly to make it pop and added 2 little bows.

This is a page to put photos of grandparents or parents to be
anxiously awaitig the baby's arrival.

This page is intended for the parents - "the first time I saw your face"
is just so appropriate...

This is a page for the grandparents - Abuelos in spanish.

This is the not so traditional going home page with the baby stats on the left.
The made is from Storybook and then I cut the frame out
of vellum and printed the baby's stats.

I love this flower - it is multiple primas that were inked and Stikled.

This is a Thanksgiving page.

Santa is from the Noel cartridge.  I used Stickles on his beard and robes -
you can't see it too well, but it looks great.

I love winter pages - perhaps because we live in South Florida and we do not
have "Winter" per se.  The snowmen are actually stickers that I adhered to
cardstock, cut and then Stickled.

Sweet and sassy Valentine's Day.

Baby's baptism.  I just love silver and the frosted grey.  The ribbon I made
from 2 ribbon - the sheer with a silver satin over it.  The embellishments
I think are Jolies.

This could be a Mother's Day page.

and this is the Father's Day.  I love this page.  The animals were actually part
of a 12x12 page and I cut them out, matted them and used foam dots.

You can't have summer wihout a day at the beach.  This is from
Life's a Beach.  I used a product for the sand that resembles sand in glue.
I think I may make some of my own next time ith glossy accents or Elmer's.
I also used stickles to resemble sand.

a not-so-scary Halloween.

Happy Birthday.

and here is the last page.

ANOTHER MOTHER'S DAY WORDBOOK

I know I am a little late but I just love these book.  This one I made for my sister.  All of the paper is Heidi Grace.  I used the Storybook cart, MS loop punch, Recollections gems, K & CO embellishments, Tim Holtz inks, micro beads and of course, Stickles and ribbon.

This is a simple tag which open into two.  I wanted to add lots of space for pictres and journaling.

This is a little tri-fold held shut by fibers on a brad.....

This photo is not great but I wanted to show the little heart shaped
booklet for photos and more journaling.

I embossed the outside and of course covered it in Stickles.

My sister loves butterflies.  This one is also from Storybook.  I used a piece of transperency between the layers and used Tim Holtz inks to color it in.  I then Stickled around the wings.  The antenae are covered in micro beads.

This is a paperbag pocket and inside is a tag that opens like a little book with room for more pictures and journaling.

The swirls at the bottom of the inside of the paper bag come from the punch-outs from the butterfly.  I did not glue the top of the flourishes so she can slide a photo in there.

More room for photos.

Thank you so much for your comments.  Ana
